Dr. Nihaad Syed, Family Physician at the Whitby Clinic

Your family doctor,
for the long run

MBChB CCFP MRCGP DCH DRCOG

Dr. Syed studied medicine at the University of Sheffield and completed his family medicine training in London, England. His clinical experience spans a wide range of specialties, including psychiatry, emergency medicine, and geriatrics, with dedicated qualifications in child health and women's health. That breadth helps him care for patients at every stage of life, from everyday concerns to more complex medical needs.

What shapes his day-to-day practice is straightforward: listen carefully, explain things properly, and work with the person in front of you to make practical decisions about their health. It's the same approach he brought to teaching medical students at Imperial College London. Break it down, make it useful, make sure it sticks.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Syed hikes, reads widely, is never far from a camera, and remains an optimistic but unconvincing guitarist.

Dr. Syed is a UK-trained, certified family physician licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He is currently welcoming new patients at The Whitby Clinic.

"Good medicine isn't just finding the problem. It's helping you understand what matters, and what comes next."

Family medicine that feels
personal and complete

From your child's first checkup to managing chronic conditions, Dr. Syed provides comprehensive care for you and your family.

Chronic Disease

Diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, thyroid conditions, and other long-term concerns. Ongoing care that keeps you on track, not just a prescription once a year.

Preventive Care

The things that are easier to deal with when they're caught early. Cancer screening, cholesterol checks, annual physicals, and immunizations for all ages.

Mental Health

Anxiety, depression, stress, sleep, and feeling overwhelmed. If something's been weighing on you, bring it up. That's what the appointment is for.

Women's Health

Pap tests, contraception, prenatal care, and menopause support from a doctor with additional training in women's health.

Men's Health

Prostate screening, heart health, testosterone concerns, and the checkups that tend to get put off. If it's been a while, that's a good enough reason to book.

Care for Every Age

From well-baby visits and childhood checkups to medication reviews, fall prevention, and screening for memory concerns in older adults. Family medicine that grows with you.

Everything Under One Roof

X-ray, ultrasound, and mammography (Ontario Breast Screening Program), LifeLabs blood work, a pharmacy, a registered dietitian, physiotherapy, massage therapy, orthotics and bracing, and a medical spa. All under the same roof at 200 Brock Street North, so more of your care stays in one place.
